St. Benilde tops NCAA speed kicking tourney

IN this extraordinary season, College of St. Benilde taekwondo jins flexed their muscles and were rewarded with handsome dividends.

CSB bagged the overall championship in the NCAA 96th season speed kicking competitions last Monday.

The Blazers ruled two more divisions in the final day of competitions to hoist the overall championship in both the men’s and women’s categories.

Arellano University and San Beda University won the overall silver and bronze, respectively, in the women’s side while the overall silver and bronze in the men’s division also went to the same schools.

In the junior’s division, San Beda captured the overall title, while Emilio Aguinaldo College and CSB wound up second and third place, respectively.

CSB’s Anne Christine Obenza registered 6.583 points to take home the mint in the women’s middleweight division.

Ashley Judd Felipe, settled for silver medal after scoring 6.175 markers while Kezia Eustaquio of the Arellano University notched 6.142 to pluck the bronze medal.

Lucille Cunanan tallied 6.475 points to cop the gold in the women’s heavyweight class, while Beverly Michelle Bandiola of the Arellano got 6.358 points for the silver.
