YUKA Saso settled for a four-way tie for fifth after the final round of the Marathon LPGA Classic was rained out, leaving Japan’s Nasao Hataoka victorious at the Highlands Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio yesterday.
Saso had rounds of 71-67- 64 for a for a 54-hole tally of 202. The reigning US Women’s Open champion pocketed $63,817 (roughly P3.2 million) as she finished eight strokes behind Hataoka, who also had a 64 in the third round and a 54-hole output of 210 to bring home the top prize of $300,000 (P15 million).
Saso’s former national teammate, Bianca Pagdanganan, shot 68 for 210 and finished in a tie for 50th with nine others and earned $6,082 (P301,000).
