MGC-New Life Christian Academy captured the Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association Season 11 juniors’ volleyball tiara as the New Lifers completed a perfect run with a sweep of Jubilee Christian Academy in the Finals.
Aisha Lauren Reyes, Angeline Stephanie Tan, and Sofia Caylen Cordova conspired in helping MGC-NLCA take the 25-21, 27-25, 25-14 victory in Game Two in front of its home fans at MGC Gym in Taguig last month.
It was a dominant follow up to the New Lifers’ 25-11, 25-23, 25-16 conquest in Game 1 as they proved to be head and shoulders over the competition this season.
But this really shouldn’t come as a surprise, with MGC-NLCA going undefeated in six games in the eliminations and refusing to give up a set en route to the championship.
Pace Academy placed third in the tourney which is sponsored by H-Star Enterprises Inc., SHS Alumni Batch ’74, Canyon Hotels and Resorts, Inox, Tai Chi, and Spalding.
This also solidified MGC-NLCA as a force to be reckoned with in PCYAA after the New Lifers also claimed the juniors’ basketball crown over St. Stephen’s High School.
