COLLEGE of St. Benilde whipped San Beda University 25-18, 25-18, 25-19 yesterday for its second straight win in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena.
Skipper Mycah Go powered the Lady Blazers with nine markers, 10 digs and five excellent receptions, while Jade Gentapa and Camill Avila contributed six points each.
“Iyon nga medyo slow start pero every rally lang na-overcome naman namin iyong points so less errors lang talaga iyong kailangan namin each game, iyon lang,” CSB assistant coach Jay Chua, who spoke in lieu of coach Jerry Yee, said.
He added: “Siguro sa next game alisin lang namin iyong slow start namin, dapat maging aggressive kami sa simula hanggang sa dulo para tuloy-tuloy kami”
Angel Mae Habacon was the lone bright spot for the Lady Red Spikers with 13 kills, six digs and three excellent receptions.
With the loss, San Beda tumbled to 0-2 in Pool B.
In the second match, Adamson crushed San Sebastian College 25-13, 25-11, 25-22 for its second win in a row.
