CIGNAL outlasted Choco Mucho 25-14, 25-11, 19-25, 17-25, 15-11 yesterday to stay in contention for a semifinals berth in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Skipper Rachel Anne Daquis produced 17 points and 10 digs for the HD Spikers, while Ces Molina fired 17 markers and 16 excellent receptions.
“We know talaga magiging matindi iyong labanan kasi alam namin kung paano din gumalaw iyong team ng Choco Mucho and then siyempre iyong coaching staff din nila alam din namin kung paano din sila dumiskarte and sa training,” Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos said.
“Ang good thing, sobrang happy ako and proud sa team namin dahil sobrang ganda ng ginalaw and naka-survive kami, na-maintain namin iyong good attitude,” he added.
The HD Spikers improved their record to 2-4 and recovered from a meltdown last Saturday when they lost to the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers 23-25, 20-25, 23-25.
Kat Tolentino and Isa Molde scored 17 points each for the Flying Titans, while Des Cheng had 14 markers.
Choco Mucho slipped to 2-3 in the import-less tilt.
