POWERHOUSE TNT simply won’t be denied last Sunday night.
With Gryan Mendoza showing the way, the Triple Giga hacked out a 21-18 victory over Cavitex to bag the crown in the grand finals of the PBA 3×3 Season 3 First Conference at the Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig.
TNT trailed early on 7-12, but Mendoza waxed hot and gave the quartet of coach Mau Belen an 18-17 edge heading into the final two minutes of the thrilling match.
Vosotros took over from there and hit the winning basket that secured the franchise’s fifth straight conference title and the P750,000 prize money.
“Definitely, this is just a testament on how good this team is,” Belen said.
Mendoza finished with 10 points while Vosotros added seven markers, five rebounds, and six assists.
Lervin Flores had three points and seven boards, while Samboy De Leon added a basket for second seed TNT, which was cheered on the sideline by TNT 5-on-5 coach and team manager Jojo Lastimosa.
