The Braves wielded the big broom against San Miguel Beer 21-11, Ginebra 21-13, and Pioneer Elastoseal 21-17 to clinch No. 1 in Pool C.
The Kings (1-1) and the Katibays (1-1) also advanced, while the Beermen (0-3) crashed out. Ginebra and Pioneer were both victorious over SMB 22-11 and 21-17, respectively, to get a chance to dispute No. 2 in their duel at the end of pool play.
