Chooks 3×3 squad sees action in Dubai

THE Cebu Chooks 3×3 squad is not one to back down from a big challenge.

Despite getting an invitation on short notice, the quartet of Mac Tallo, Zach Huang, Fil-Canadian Brandon Ramirez, and Cameroonian Mike Harry Nzeusseu left the country last Tuesday for Dubai for the 2022 FIBA 3×3 Dubai Expo Super Quest.

The tourney, a level eight of a possible 10-level meet that serves as a qualifier in a World Tour stop that has yet to be revealed by the FIBA 3×3, kicks off today.

Cebu Chooks tangles with Riga at 7:25 p.m. before it takes on Chicago at 9:30 p.m. and Antwerp at 11:35 p.m.

“The FIBA 3×3’s invitation came as a surprise as it only came to us last weekend,” Chooks-to-Go president and team owner Ronald Mascariñas said.

“But we never turn down any challenge, that’s why we accepted it,” he added.

Some of the world’s top teams are set to compete in the tilt such as world No. 2 Antwerp (Belgium), No. 3 Liman (Serbia), No. 4 Riga (Latvia), No. 9 San Juan (Puerto Rico), No. 10 Lausanne (Switzerland), Chicago (USA), and a team from Dubai.
