REIGNING three-time champion Arellano seeks its third straight win and solo second when it tackles Letran today in the 97th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena.
The match is set at 2:30 p.m. after the curtain-raiser pitting unbeaten College of St. Benilde and Mapua University at 12 o’clock.
The Lady Chiefs will go into battle on a high, having scored a 25-18, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Jose Rizal University last Saturday.
The likes of Nicole Sasuman, Carlo Donato, Princess Bello, Charmina Dino, and Trina Abay will be counted upon by the Legarda-based spikers to improve their 4-1 card.
The Lady Knights are aching to rebound from a 25-14, 25-22, 28-30, 25-12 loss to Lyceum also last Saturday.
Letran will pin its hopes on Julienne Castro, Shereena Urmeneta and Chamberlaine Cuñada in its bid to hike its 1-4 slate.
Still unscathed in four outings, counting a 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 drubbing of Emilio Aguinaldo College four days ago, the Lady Blazers will rely on Mycah Go, Gayle Pascual, Jade Gentapa, and Michelle Gamit. — Abby Toralba
