BIDDING to annex a second straight crown, reigning champion Petro Gazz tries to get the job done today against Cignal in Game 2 of their best-of-3 finals showdown in the PVL Reinforced Open Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Aiming to replicate their title win in 2019, the Angels target to finish off the HD Spikers at 5:30 p.m.
“Well, iyon nga, nabanggit namin noong last kung ibibigay sa amin we’ll make the most out of it so ito na iyong pinaka-chance, kung may opportunity na kami na maka-grab ng championship kukunin na namin,” said coach Rald Ricafort.
“Binabanggit naman na we do it the right way, trabaho kami ng mahirap talaga. Ang sabi ko lang, i-disregard na iyong past and wag (muna) isipin iyong future, doon lang kami (sa) one day at a time, one game at a time,” he added.
Petro Gazz whipped Cignal 25-21, 27-25, 27-35 in the series opener last Thursday.
The Angels will pin their hopes on American import Lindsey Vander Weide along with locals Myla Pablo, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Djanel Cheng, Remy Palma, MJ Phillips ang Shiela Pineda.
“Kailangan maibigay na namin iyong 110 percent para iyong natitira namin chance, dahil siyempre Game 2 na,” Cignal strategist Shaq Delos Santos said.
“But ako, naniniwala pa rin ako sa team namin na kaya namin at kaya pa naming pagandahin iyong ending namin.”
American reinforcement Tai Bierria and local supports Ces Molina, Rachel Anne Daquis, Ria Meneses, Angeli Araneta, Gel Cayuna, Roselyn Doria and Jheck Dionela are expected to carry the fight for the HD Spikers.
