THE Philippine National Volleyball Federation is eyeing to field an all-pro squad from the Premier Volleyball League for the 31st Southeast Asian Games from May 12 to 23 in Hanoi and neighboring areas.
PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara said UAAP spikers would not likely be available as it plans to hold its women’s volleyball tournament from May to June.
“Most of the players will be 95 percent from the PVL because iyong mga UAAP players natin are not available,” Suzara said. “The UAAP is holding its tournament from February to May so tatama sa SEA Games.”
The likes of Ateneo’s Faith Nisperos, Eya Laure, Imee Hernandez and Bernadette Pepito of University of Santo Tomas, and National University’s Kamille Cal, Mhicaela Belen, Ivy Lacsina, Alyssa Solomon, and Jennifer Nierva are unlikely to be part of the national team training pool of coach Odjie Mamon and Brazilian consultant Edson Souza de Brito.
