NATIONAL University and University of Santo Tomas go at it one last time today in Game 3 of their best-of-3 finals showdown for the V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge title at the Paco Arena.
The Bulldogs and the Tiger Spikers clash at 4 p.m.
UST aims to continue its winning momentum following a come-from-behind win against the Bulldogs in the second game last Wednesday 21-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-12.
“I told them to take every chance na nandoon sila sa court as a learning experience.
Matuto kayo, you can identify what is effective and ituloy ninyo. Kung ano iyong pagkukulang ninyo, i-improve ninyo,” Tiger Spikers coach Odjie Mamon said.
“Iyon lang, more on learning lang iyong sinabi ko sa kanila noong down kami. Matuto, matuto, matuto,” he added.
Josh Ybanez, Rey De Vega, Dux Yambao, Jay Rack Dela Noche, Edlyn Colinares, and Rainier Flor are expectee to go all out for UST in the deciding match.
The Bulldogs, who won the series opener 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 five days ago, are pinning their title hopes on MVP Nico Almendras along with Mic Buddin, Joshua Retamar, Kennry Malinis, Obed Mukaba and Choi Diao.
In women’s play, Ateneo completed a finals sweep and ruled the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge last Wednesday with a 25-12, 25-22, 25-12 thumping of Adamson University Game 2.
Open spiker Faith Nisperos, who was named MVP in the women’s division, was also named the finals MVP.
