HERE’S solid proof Filipino cagers are proving they have what it takes in Japan.
All nine Pinoy dribblers seeing action in the B. League, led by Kiefer Ravena, are set to suit up in the All-Star Game on Jan. 14 next year at Okinawa Arena.
Kiefer Ravena will be joined in the All-Asia squad by his brother Thirdy Ravena of the San-En, Nagoya’s Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Niigata Albirex BB’s Kobe Paras, Toyama’s Dwight Ramos, Ibaraki’s Javi Gomez de Liano, and second division players Juan Gomez de Liano (Earthfriends Tokyo Z) and Kemark Cariño (Aomori Wat’s).
Completing the Asia All-Stars lineup are Chinese center Wang Weijia of the Akita Northern Happinets, Indonesian winger Brandon Jawato of the Utsunomiya Brex, Korean shooter Yang Jae-min of the Shinshu Brave Warriors, and second division players Lin Chih-wei of Chinese Taipei (Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka) and Liu Jin of China (Nishinomiya Storks).
Ryukyu Golden Kings coach Dai Oketani will call the shots for the team.
Shinshu’s Matthew Aquino will be part of the Rising Stars team that will be led by Utsunomiya Brex guard Kai Toews.
