The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has banned the TV show “Private Convos with Doc Rica” on the One News Cable Channel. The decision, made on January 24, stems from the program’s violation of MTRCB Rating guidelines and its focus on content that purely caters to “prurient interest.”
The MTRCB’s Monitoring and Inspection Unit (MIU) submitted an Incident Report to the Office of the Chairperson on August 24, 2023, regarding the show “PRIVATE CONVOS WITH DOC RICA” on CIGNAL TV’s One News Cable Channel. The report highlighted specific episodes discussing sexual experiences and fantasies, featuring inappropriate language.
One particular episode on September 6 caught the MIU’s attention, where host Doc Rica interviewed a guest about sexual awakening. The conversation included explicit terms like “self-masturbation, anal sex, and oral sex.”
Apart from the MIU’s findings, the Board received several complaints about the program, primarily from concerned parents.
The ban on the TV show will start as soon as the decision becomes final. This ban includes stopping the show from being sent to other places, copied, shared, sold, rented, displayed, or aired on TV across all platforms within the area controlled by MTRCB.
