Bernadette Sembrano returned to “TV Patrol” yesterday after her bout with Covid-19.
“Para sabay sabay na tapos ng quarantine (with Noli de Castro and Henry Omaga-Diaz).
Fourteen days quarantine ng exposed sa Covid patient,” she said.
The news anchor still cannot believe how she got infected by the virus.
“Actually, it’s more like the only place I take off my mask publicly is at work. Kaya ‘yan ang hinala ko. Lessons learned even If you are alone in an air-conditioned room never remove your mask pa rin .
“Buti our producers are pro active. Al fresco na ang ‘Patrol,’ nasa open air malapit sa Dolphy Theater.
“Anywhere na poor ventilation – never remove your mask. Our make-up artists are all negative kasi naka mask palagi,” she explained.
“Ang pasalamat ko lang I don’t go near Kabayan and always naka-mask ako pag may ibang tao and malayo but ang mistake ko is removing my mask when I am alone in the make-up room and dressing room never talaga ever.”
Bernadette said she did not exhibit any symptoms prior to testing positive.
“Dami ng cases everywhere. It’s safe to assume that people are walking carriers I just got tested that’s why I found out but I had no symptoms the whole duration ng isolation.
“Ten days lang ang quarantine If you tested positive and showed know symptoms with last three days na walang symptoms dapat.”
She was all set to get her vaccine when she found out she was infected.
“How ironic that I was scheduling to get vaccinated then got the news na positive ako. I will ask doctor that (when she can be vaccinated).”
While on quarantine, Bernadette was able to write the lyrics and music of “Yakap,” dedicated to Pinoys during the pandemic.
“Parang naging note to self siya. ‘Yung intensyon ng kanta ay mag-comfort ng iba pero ngayon na nakakaranas ako mismo ng anxiety, na-remind ako na alalahanin ang good times at ngumiti dahil magiging okay din ang lahat.”
