ANGELI Khang was introduced in a small role in “Taya,” which had AJ Raval then as the leading lady. After that, Angeli hit it big solo in “Mahjong Nights” and “Silip sa Apoy,” so folks said she has surpassed AJ as the Queen of Vivamax. They’re now together in the sex-drama “Her X Us” as rivals for the attention of Kiko Estrada. So how was it?
“When I learned I will work with AJ, kinabahan ako, kasi nga lagi kaming pinagko-compare. Sa shooting, we got along fine with our kulitan, food trip, kwentuhan. We didn’t feel any competition at all on the set.”
“Her X Us” is directed by Jules Katanyag of GMA. Kiko Estrada plays a top basketball player who is living in with AJ Raval. Angeli plays Kiko diehard fan even if she knows he is already with AJ.
When Kiko gets injured while playing, his career is ruined and he turns to booze and drugs. He meets Angeli and they have an illicit affair, then when he’s trying to distance himself from her, she gets mad and dangerous. Angeli will do everything to mess up the lives of Kiko and AJ in a case of fatal attraction.
How is it acting with both Kiko and AJ?
“Si Kiko is great, also with AJ. May bedscenes kaming tatlo, threesome, at nagtatawanan lang kami at kumakain pa kami while we’re in bed. Very comfortable ako to work with them. They’re both hardworking and on point sa acting nila. We’re all happy nagawa namin what our director expected from us.”

Keempee de Leon is glad to do a new movie, “Mahal Kita, Beksman”, as he has not done a movie for more than ten years. “Na-miss ko rin, kasi mostly, TV series ang ginagawa ko,” he says. “And I’m glad that Viva ang producer nito kasi sa Viva naman talaga ako nag-start and I did a lot of youth oriented movies with them before. When this movie was offered to me by Direk Perci Intalan, natuwa ako kasi light lang siya. Sa soaps, puro drama ang ginagawa ko, so nakaka-drain ng emotions.”
Does he mind playing a gay dad to Christian Bables in “Mahal Kita, Beksman”? “Not at all. In real life, I have a daughter who’s now 25 years old. Kapag kasama ko nga, sinasabi ng mga tao, ang bata ng girlfriend mo, so I have to tell them na, anak ko ‘yan. I’m now 49 years old, si Christian daw is 27, so puede ko na talaga siya maging anak.”
How is it working with Christian Bables who’s now the young actor best known for playing gay roles? “Nagkasundo kami agad. Sa rehearsals pa lang namin, na-build up na agad ang rapport namin ni Christian at pati ng characters namin. During shooting breaks, kuwentuhan kami. Maganda ang naging connection namin on and off cam.”
Direk Perci Intalan says it’s a joy to work with both Keempe and Christian. “Pareho silang magaling, they give more than what you ask for,” he says. “They both make a director’s work easier kasi. Maski ang adlibs nila, tama ang bato nila. Alam nila kung paano ipasok ang mga hirit nila. Tawang-tawa kaming lahat sa set.”

Adrian Alandy has become so busy since he did sexy flicks for Vivamax like “My Husband, My Lover,” “Ang Babaeng Nawawala sa Sarili” and now, “Kara Krus,” where he plays the leading man of nubile nymphet Denise Esteban who’s being launched to stardom in this film.
“First time ko to work with Denise and we play husband and wife in the story,” he says. “When I met her on the set, I asked her how old is she and she said, 20. So I wondered kung bagay ba kami kasi I’m 42, so malaki ang age gap namin. But they say, hindi naman daw halata on screen, so sabi ko, sige, let’s give it a go.”
The first thing he did is to try making a good connection with her. “Dapat maganda ang communication namin para makita nila on screen na we have good rapport in front of the camera,” he adds. “So nagkuwentuhan kami, I tried to know more about her, kasi it’s important na we’re comfortable with each other, lalo na when we’re doing our sexy love scenes.”
He’s now married and it’s good his wife, Joselle Fernandez, does not get jealous when he does nude love scenes with his leading ladies in the Vivamax flicks he’s doing?
“Hindi naman,” he says. “Artista na ako when we met and she understands my work. She knows this is just part of my job as an actor and I’m just being professional in doing sexy love scenes with my co-stars.”
