JOAQUIN Domagoso is the son of ex-Manila Mayor Isko Moreno who is now into acting. Some folks say he won’t suc ceed as he is now a dad with a love child. We just want to remind them that Aga Muhlach was also a teen actor when he had a son with Janice de Belen, Luigi, who’s now 36 years old. But Mother Lily Monteverde helped him. Aga starred in “Batang Ama” and he eventually became one of the country’s top actors.
So it will really all depend on who’d be handling Joaquin’s career and help push it hard for him to get better projects. Dadie Wowie Roxas, the manager then of Isko, is now managing Joaquin, and he is promoting diligently Joaquin’s launching flick, “That Boy in the Dark.” So, how has fatherhood changed Joaquin’s life?
“My parents and I are happy that we have a baby in our family, so no regrets,” he says. “I want to be a good and responsible dad for him. Mahirap nga umalis ng bahay ngayon kasi nami-miss ko siya agad.”
In “That Boy In the Dark,” Joaquin plays the role of a boy who loses his eyesight in an accident and becomes very bitter. But he experiences an extraordinary encounter with a girl whose reflection he sees even in total darkness. Who’s this girl and why is she contacting the blind boy? The movie is a gripping mystery-thriller that opens in cinemas nationwide starting January 8, 2023.

Christine Bermas is not insecure of Vivamax’s new nymphets.
Christine Bermas got much acclaim last year for her performances in “Relyebo” and “Scorpio Nights 3.” She now stars in “Night Bird,” her first film in 2023. How is this different from her past films?
“It’s very different as ‘Relyebo’ is serious drama while ‘Scorpio Nights 3’ is very sexy, but this one is action,” she says. “Dream come true ito for me, kasi noon ko pa gusto ko talaga mag-try ng action. Mahirap pala kasi very physical siya. Nakakapagod and I had to train hard on how to do fight routines.”
In the story, she and other female friends go on a night out and they meet four good-looking guys who befriended them: Mark Anthony Fernandez, Sid Lucero, Aaron Villaflor and Felix Roco. They have a drink together and the girls didn’t know the boys drugged them.
They are brought to a house where they are all raped brutally. “Nang magbalik ang malay ko, I realized what they did to us. I have a knowledge of martial arts kaya nilabanan ko sila. I want justice and revenge for what they did to us ng friends ko.”
Is she getting insecure that Vivamax continues to launch one new nymphet after another? “No, may kanya-kanya naman kaming katangian and Vivamax needs it for variety kasi every week, they release a new movie. Sabi nga, the more, the merrier, right?”
“Night Bird” is directed by Law Fajardo, who previously directed Christine in “Scorpio Nights 3.” It streams on Vivamax starting January 13.

“PANIBUGHO,” a period film, is the first movie offering of Vivamax for 2023. It’s the story of three sisters, played by real-life sisters Angela Morena, Stephanie Raz, and Micaella Raz. They are Sonya, Ester, and Lea, respectively, whose father, Don Fidel Paraiso (Soliman Cruz) just died. Their dad’s death upsets the lives of his three sheltered daughters. Things get even more complicated when a wounded stranger strays into their home, Kiko Estrada as Felipe, asking for help.
The sisters let the injured Kiko into their home and nurse him back to health. But soon, Kiko is seducing all the three innocent sisters and he turns out to be irresistible to all of them. What they don’t know is that he has a hidden agenda in getting to know them.
We ask the sisters if there’s any rivalry among them. “None, buo ang suporta namin sa isa’t isa,” says Angela, the eldest. “Nagtutulungan kaming tatlo sa shoot ng bawat eksena.”
Stefanie says they have no rivalry at all. “Kasi our manager and aunt, si Tita Lara Morena, lagi kaming sinasabihan not to put each other down. Ang dapat, lagi naming tulungang umangat ang bawat isa.”
“Panibugho” means jealousy, does Micaela ever feel jealous of her sisters? “Kung minas’, may selos ako but I know hindi dapat, kasi bawat isa sa amin, we have different qualities. And I know meron akong katangian na sa akin lang. Actually, we all enjoyed doing this movie kasi mabait si Kiko Estrada as the lone leading man. Masaya siyang katrabaho, ayaw lang magpatawag ng kuya kahit mas senior naman talaga siya sa amin.”
