Kim Chiu will not expect boyfriend Xian Lim to greet her personally on her 31st birthday on April 19.
“Baka, by then,” she said, “istrikto pa rin ang mga guidelines for community quarantine.
“Mabuti na ang nag-i-ingat,” Kim added.
Guess who Kim’s ka-birthday is?
Former President and Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada, who is turning 84.
Right now, President Erap, as reported by his son, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, is doing better at the hospital. The former president was hospitalized two weeks ago because of worsening pneumonia after testing positive for COVID-19.
“His vitals are now all normal. No fever, no agitation,” said Senator Jinggoy at last Sunday’s thanksgiving mass for the former president.
“He is slowly recovering but is not yet out off the woods,” he also said.
Prayers indeed work wonders, said Jinggoy.
“Salamat nang marami sa mga nagdadasal,” he sincerely added.

Julia Barretto has lost a lot of weight.
And it becomes her.
How did she do it?
“Ganyan siguro pag in love,” a friend surmised. “You always want to look your best.”
It’s no longer secret that Julia is in a relationship with actor Gerald Anderson. It was Gerald who admitted this to Boy Abunda last month.
In the recent Zoom press con of “Init sa Magdamag,” he said he is relieved and happy that their relationship is now out in the open.
Gerald is joined by Yam Concepcion and JM de Guzman in “Init Sa Magdamag.” He admits he and Yam have several “mainit” scenes. This is why he can hardly wait for the series to premiere on April 19 on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5.
Did we hear it right that is some scenes, Gerald will appear in his undies?
“Init sa Magdamag” is directed by Raymond Ocampo.

Still being talked about is Luis Manzano’s “crying scene” at his wedding to Jessy Mendiola at The Farm at San Benito in Lipa, Batangas in February.
But, as his mom, Star for All Seasons and Lipa Representative Vilma Santos-Recto said:
“Medyo iyakin talaga si Lucky, yes, sa mga importanteng happening sa pamilya. Kaya, ako, I’m not surprised.
“Besides, matagal na rin nilang pinagplanuhan ang kasal.
“Next move nila ang magkaanak na, which excites me no end.”
Luis and Jessy’s civil wedding was officiated by Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa. In December, they plan to have a bigger ceremony with the couple in their formal wedding clothes. We wonder if Luis will again wear pink.
As one spectator said: “Bagay naman kay Luis ang kulay pink.”

Ruffa Gutierrez will surely have a part in Derek and Ellen’s wedding.
It’s common knowledge that she was the one who introduced the lovebirds.
It was Ruffa who invited Ellen to Derek’s place. They all live in the same neighborhood, we heard.
And that was that.
“These days,” someone close to Ruffa said, “emotional si Ruffa somehow. And it has to do with her elder daughter, Lorin, who is 18.”
Lorin and 16-year-old Venice are Ruffa’s daughters with former husband, Yilmaz Bektas.
“Umalis na kasi si Lorin for Los Angeles where she will continue her studies,” our source continued. “Hindi pa tiyak ni Ruffa ang kursong kukunin ang anak, pero usapan daw talaga nila na sa abroad ito mag-a-aral ng college.”

Singer Angelina Quinto is thankful she has recovered from Covid-19.
“Naagapan,” she said. “Magaling ang doctor na tumingin sa akin.”
She had no idea she had the disease until she started to feel flu-like symptoms, after a friend, who probably had no idea she was afflicted with the virus, visited her.
“Hindi kasi ako sakitin,” Angeline said. “Kaya nang nag-iba ang aking pakiramdam, kaagad kumunsulta ako sa doctor.
“Lucky me, as the doctor attended to me kaagad.”
While sick, the 31-year-old felt so much longing for her adoptive mother, Mama Bob. Mama Bob, whose real name is Sylvia Quinto, passed away November of last year.
