AMID the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, labor group Partido Manggagawa yesterday called on the government to make sure that all workplaces are adherent to occupational safety and health (OSH) standards.
In a statement, the PM said it is highly necessary for all companies and business establishments to ensure that workplaces are safe zones against COVID-19 transmission, especially since “a lot of factories and workplaces are operating and numerous workers are reporting onsite under the Alert Level 3 protocol. Thus, the necessity of ensuring workplace safety.”
“Workers should assert that OSH regulations are implemented. This is hanap buhay (occupation), not hanap patay (finding death),” it added.
