Violations found in QC City Hall wall collapse

THE Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) yesterday said the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – National Capital Region (NCR) has found violations in the area where a concrete wall at the Quezon City Hall collapsed Thursday last week that resulted to the death of a construction worker.

In a televised public briefing, OSHC Executive Director Ma Teresita Cucueco said: “From what we know, the DOLE NCR office conducted an investigation there and found violations, that’s why this happened.”

She, however, refused to provide additional details of the DOLE-NCR findings saying she doesn’t want to preempt the report.

“The DOLE-NCR will be the one to provide the findings following the accident investigation,” said Cucueco.

Last Thursday, a construction worker died while three others were injured after a concrete wall collapsed at the Quezon City Hall.

The victims are employees of the MRB II Construction Corporation. — Gerard Naval
