Satisfaction ratings of Sara, Zubiri, Romualdez up; Gesmundo suffers drop

THE net public satisfaction ratings of Vice President Sara Duterte, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Speaker Martin Romualdez rose to four points in the last quarter of 2022 while Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo suffered a four-point drop, the December 10 to 14 Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.

The survey, which involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide with a sampling error margin of ±2.8 percent, was the same poll that saw President Marcos Jr. enjoying a “good” net satisfaction score of +68 (75 percent satisfied, 7 percent dissatisfied) in December ,up from a “good” +63 (71 percent satisfied, 21 percent dissatisfied) in October.

The net satisfaction rating is the difference between the satisfaction and dissatisfaction ratings.

SWS classified net satisfaction ratings of +70 and above as excellent; +50 to +69 as very good; +30 to +49 as good; +10 to +29 as moderate; +9 to -9 as neutral; -10 to -29 as poor; -30 to -49 as bad; -50 to -69 as very bad; and -70 and below as execrable.

The survey firm said 83 percent were satisfied and 5 percent were dissatisfied with the performance of Duterte, resulting in an “excellent” net satisfaction rating of +77. This was an improvement from the 79 percent satisfaction and 6 percent dissatisfaction in October 2022 that resulted in an “excellent” net satisfaction rating of +73.

SWS said Duterte also obtained an “excellent” net satisfaction rating in all geographical areas, with the highest in Mindanao at +96 (up from +88), followed by the Visayas at +74 (from +71), Metro Manila at +73 (from +68), and Balance Luzon at +71 (from +68).

The polling firm also found that Zubiri obtained a “good” net satisfaction score of +47 (58 percent satisfied, 10 percent dissatisfied), up from +44 (56 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfied) in October 2022.

Zubiri’s net satisfaction rating stemmed from the “very good” +59 in Mindanao (up from +50), and the “good” net scores from the Visayas at +45 (down from +55), Luzon at +44 (up from +41), and Metro Manila at +41 (up from +28).

SWS said Romualdez received a “good” +37 net satisfaction rating (49 percent satisfied, 12 percent dissatisfied), which is statistically unchanged from the “good” +35 (50 percent satisfied, 15 percent dissatisfied) from October 2022.

Romualdez enjoyed a “good” net score across all geographical areas, with the highest in Metro Manila at +46 (up from +37), followed by the Visayas at +43 (from +42), Luzon at +34 (from +31), and Mindanao at +33 (from +36).

SWS also said the net satisfaction score of the Chief Justice was “moderate” with +24 (37 percent satisfied, 13 percent dissatisfied) down from +28 (43 percent satisfied, 15 percent dissatisfied).

Gesmundo enjoyed “good” +39 in Metro Manila (up from +26), and a “moderate” score in other areas such as +25 in Mindanao (down from 28), +22 in Luzon (down from +28), +21 in the Visayas (down from +25).
