MEDICAL centers and health facilities have until the end of this month to renew their accreditation with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
The original deadline for the renewal of accreditation is Dec. 31, 2022 deadline.
Eligible to apply for accreditation are hospitals, ambulatory surgical clinics, free-standing dialysis clinics, rural health units/health centers, and maternity care clinics.
PhilHealth said the extension of the deadline is meant “to ensure continuous access to quality health services by all Filipinos.”
The state insurer also said only applications with complete documentary requirements submitted to the respective PhilHealth regional offices on or before the said deadline will be accepted.
PhilHealth accreditation is a process wherein qualifications and capabilities of healthcare providers are verified in accordance with guidelines, standards, and procedures set by the agency.
Healthcare providers need the accreditation to participate in the National Health Insurance Program.
