A POLICE commissioned officer and his policewoman-wife have been placed under administrative investigation in connection with the murder of another policeman.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said the administrative investigation may lead to the dismissal of the suspects – a lieutenant colonel and an executive master sergeant.
NCRPO Director Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin directed the NCRPO’s Regional Investigation and Detection Management to lead the investigation against the two, who are under police custody.
Police probers have filed murder charges against the suspects for killing Executive Master Sergeant Emmanuel De Asis. The NCRPO did not identify the suspects.
Reports said the officer caught the victim in a very intimate situation with his wife last November 28, leading to the death of the victim.
The officer later mutilated the body of the victim and buried the remains at his ancestral home in Baguio City.
“There will be no stone left unturned in this investigation,” said Aberin.
“The pieces of evidence are overwhelming and I specifically instructed concerned units to ensure the filing of airtight criminal and administrative cases against the suspects,” added Aberin.
The NCRPO, in a statement, said the suspects may be dismissed from the service if found guilty of the administrative charges.
“If the evidence warrants and after the appropriate legal process are undertaken, the suspects involved should be dismissed from the service while facing the criminal cases against them,” the NCRPO said.
