PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III said yesterday they already have “persons of interest” in the murder of an official from the House of Representatives last Sunday in Quezon City.
Torre said he is hoping for the early resolution of the murder of Director Mauricio Pulhin, chief of the technical staff of the House Committee on Ways and Means.
“We already have persons of interest,” Torre told reporters during an ambush interview in Quezon City.
“The investigation is still ongoing, the manhunt operation is still ongoing and we hope to resolve this case as soon as possible,” Torre added.
He said a special investigation task group had already been formed to focus on the investigation surrounding the killing of the 63-year-old Pulhin.
As to the motive behind the killing, Torre said: “It will come out as the investigation goes on. There are already leads we’re looking into.”
Torre declined to give additional information about the case, pending the conduct of the investigation.
Pulhin was shot dead by two assailants last Sunday afternoon in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, during the birthday celebration of his daughter.
The suspects fired at a security guard of a subdivision while fleeing on board a motorcycle.
Pulhin was brought to a hospital where he later died.
