TO serve more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai has raised the capacity of its online employment contract verification services.
In a statement, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) disclosed that the Online Employment Contract Verification System (OECVS) of MWO-Dubai has tripled its allocated slots.
“From the previous weekly slots of 1,000, the weekly limit has been increased to 3,000 slots starting last August 18, 2025,” said the DMW.
“From six evaluators initially, we now have 30 contract evaluators providing assistance to OFWs from Monday to Sunday,” it added.
The department also noted that foot traffic at the MWO-Dubai has decreased.
“It decreased from the previous 200-250 people per day to 150-200 clients per day,” said the DMW.
“OFWs will be able to save almost 75 United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) on fare and food now that they no longer need to go to MWO-Dubai because of the OECVS,” said DMW.
It was back in July 2025 when the MWO-Dubai launched the OECVS in a bid to speed up the employment contract verification process and remove the need for OFWs to go to the office.
MWO-Dubai data shows that a total of 9,820 OFWs have benefited from the use of the OECVS.
