Mines bureau warns barangays prone to landslides

Still reeling from the effects of Tropical Cyclone Crising, 

At least 9,366 barangays throughout the country are prone to rain-induced landslides and flood, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) said in an advisory released on Wednesday as the country continues to reel from the effects of tropical cyclone Crising and faces further lashing from a newly identified tropical depression, Dante.

MGB’s latest geohazards threat advisory said of the number of barangays identified, 1,403 or 15 percent are in the National Capital Region. 

Those barangays are susceptible to rain-induced landslides and flooding from July 22 to 25, 2025, the MGB said.
