DPWH to repair Metro roads during Holy Week

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority yesterday advised the public that the Department of Public Works and Highways will conduct 24-hour road works in several areas in Metro Manila during the Holy Week.

The agency said the road work schedule will begin at 11 p.m. on April 16 and continue until 5 a.m. on April 21.

In a related development, the MMDA said the operation of the Pasig River Ferry Service will also be suspended from April 17 to 19. Normal operation of the ferry will resume on Monday, April 21.

Among the areas up for repairs are the following in Quezon City:

1. Quirino Highway, Colegio De Sta. Teresa De Avila to Primerose (1st lane from sidewalk) (southbound)

2. A. Bonifacio Avenue, 11th Avenue to C-3 (1st lane from center)

3. G. Araneta Avenue, Del Monte Avenue to N.S. Amoranto (3rd lane from center)

4. A. Bonifacio Avenue, Blumentritt to Mauban (2nd lane from center)

5. Sct. Alcaraz, A. Bonifacio Avenue to Sto. Domingo (2nd lane)

6. Payatas Road, Kapatiran Street to Total Gas Station (2nd lane from sidewalk)

7. Payatas Road, Bansalangin Street to Enzo Motor Works (2nd lane from sidewalk)

8. Payatas Road, Yakal St. to Wilson Autoshop (2nd lane from sidewalk)

9. Payatas Road, Bistek Ville to Quality Fuel (2nd lane from sidewalk)

10. Batasan Road, Kalinisan St. to Kaunlaran (1st lane from sidewalk)

11. G. Araneta Avenue, N.S Amoranto to Del Monte (2nd lane from center)

12. Congressional Avenue Ext., between J.L Escoda and Tandang Sora Avenue (2nd lane from sidewalk)

13. Commonwealth Avenue, fronting Microtel to Technohub (2nd lane from MRT)

14. Commonwealth Avenue, fronting General Malvar Hospital to Puregold (3rd lane from MRT)

15. Commonwealth Avenue, fronting Cor. Elliptical to Cor. University Avenue (3rd lane from MRT)

16. E. Rodriquez Jr., Eastwood to fronting BMW (3rd lane from center island)

17. E. Rodriquez Jr., fronting Wilcon Depot Center to corner Green Meadows Avenue (1st lane from center island)

18. C-5 Road Katipunan Avenue (northbound), corner C.P. Garcia to fronting UP Town Center (3rd lane)

19. E. Rodriquez Jr. (southbound), fronting Tile Center to Wilcon Depot (2nd lane)

20. Fairview Avenue, Jordan Heights Subd. to LTO Novaliches (2nd lane from center)

21. Mindanao Avenue Underpass (southbound) (1st lane and 2nd lane) (full closure)

22. Mindanao Avenue Underpass (northbound) (1st lane and 2nd lane) (full closure).

Similar works will also be done at the Magallanes Flyover (northbound), EDSA, and Makati City partial (half bridge – upper/lower level) closure in Makati City.

In Pasig City, the following areas will also see similar works:

C5 Ortigas flyover (southbound) along C5 Ortigas flyover (full closure); and Ortigas C5 Interchange from East on Ramp to Southbound Off Ramp along C5 Ortigas Interchange (full closure).

The MMDA advised motorists to avoid the affected areas and take alternate routes, including Mabuhay Lanes.
