DESPITE the massive floodings and torrential rains in recent days, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday said voter registration activities will continue as scheduled nationwide.
In a phone interview, Comelec chairman George Garcia said they will not defer the commencement of voter registration beginning August 1 since no local poll offices were affected by the typhoons and the southwest monsoon.
The poll body is set to resume voter registration activities from August 1 to 10. These will be held in all Offices of Election Officer (OEOs), as well as in different satellite registration sites.
