THE Supreme Court (SC) has issued a temporary restraining order stopping the Commission on Audit (COA) from enforcing its disallowance of the performance-based bonuses granted in 2012 to two former Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) officials.
The magistrates reached the decision during their en banc session on Tuesday where it granted the relief sought by the DBP in its petition for certiorari, questioning the legal basis of the COA’s move disallowing the bonuses to former president Francisco del Rosario Jr. and DBP Center for Global Filipinos officer Eleazar Reyes.
“The SC directed the COA to file its comment on the petition within a non-extendible period of 30 days from receipt of notice,” said a briefer that the SC public information office (PIO) issued on the case.
The SC PIO has yet to provide additional details on the case, or a copy of the TRO issued by the en banc.
