4 generals affected in continuing PNP reshuffle

FOUR police brigadier generals, including the chief of the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEG), were affected in the latest reshuffle ordered by PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

AVSEG Director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy was named the director of the Eastern Visayas police regional office, replacing Brig. Gen. Jay Reyes, who was consequently named the AVSEG chief.

The two other officials affected by the reshuffle were Brig. Gens. Jovencio Badua Jr and Christopher Abecia, who also swapped positions.

Badua was named the director of the PNP Maritime Group while Abecia was designated as the deputy director for administration of the Ilocos police regional office.

The reassignment of the four generals took effect yesterday.

The order was signed by PNP director for personnel and records management Maj. Gen. Constancio Chinayog “by command” of the PNP chief.

Torre has effected several reshuffles since assuming the post of PNP chief last June 2, replacing now retired Gen. Rommel Marbil.

One of the most recent reshuffles involved Lt. Gens. Bernard Banac and Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Banac was named the PNP deputy chief for administration, the second highest post in the PNP, swapping posts with Nartatez, who was designated as the commander of the Area Police Command-Western Visayas.
