It took quite some time before she became “official” but Kim Chiu has always been a sister to Megasoft Hygienic Products vice president Aileen Choi-Go.
For her many charitable works and advocacies, Kim has always gotten support from her Atchi Aileen.
And they are not only one when it comes to their advocacies but also when it comes to business. They both have a knack for it, with Kim starting in her lola’s store in Cebu, way before she entered the spotlight as the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Big Winner in 2016. Now, Kim has bakery shops and a new bag business. Megasoft’s big boss Aileen, ever supportive, bought more than one bag from her and was actually using it during the press launch of Kim as brand ambassador of Sisters Sanitary Napkins and Pantyliners last May 31 at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Incidentally, Aileen also worked in their family bag business in Cagayan when she was very young.
“Every summer, we would work in our bag factory,” recalled Aileen, “After matahi, binabaliktad ang cloth bago ibilad sa araw para lumabot ‘yung cloth. Binabaliktad namin after maarawan. Sobrang init pero nakakaya naman.
“I remember when I was young, hindi kami binibigyan ng allowance. Our allowance was based on what we had produced. Na instill na sa amin that you really need to work hard.
“Dati talaga hindi ko alam ang bakasyon, I didn’t know what it meant kasi ang alam ko lang, every vacation, andun ako sa factory para mag work. Tapos pinapasok ako sa office. Kaya ramdam na ramdam ko ‘pag may new budding entrepreneur. “Like with Kimmy and her bags, syempre she had to market the bags herself…. Even with Sisters dati, when we started in the year 2000…ako na rin ang ahente, ako ang nasa accounting, ako rin nagma market, nag-HR, lahat kinakaya.”
The mega entrepreneur is really thrilled to have Kim on board seeing how the actress embodies admirable qualities that resonate with their premium product and consumers as well. And most of all, Miss Aileen Choi Go admires the way Kim has remained bubbly, inspiring and down-to-earth in spite of her success.
“Sobrang bilib ako kay Kim kasi she was able to balance everything – from being an artista, ‘It’s Showtime’ host and an entrepreneur, so sobrang nakakabilib talaga. And she’s really one of the women who is a real inspiration.
“Maganda pa sa kanya, bakasyon niya kinonvert nya na work, ginawa nyang content. Nakaka inspire siya talaga.”
Kim, aside from “It’s Showtime” and “ASAP Natin ‘To,” has four new projects in the pipeline, including the star-studded series “Linlang.”
For Kim, working hard comes naturally that’s why she chooses products that will keep up with her lifestyle. And Sisters Sanitary Napkins and Panty Liners do just that.
