Kapuso performer and “The Clash” Season 2 Grand Champion Jeremiah Tiangco releases another treat for his fans and listeners with his sophomore single “Sa Tuwing Umuulan” under GMA Music.
The song, which was composed by Arnie Mendaros, depicts a heartbroken guy who is feeling melancholic with the rainy weather.
Jeremiah describes its heartfelt lyrics, “It’s all about the memories shared by lovers, parang ‘yung rain ang nag-represent sa memories nila together.”
He added that it’s nothing like he’s done before, “‘Sa Tuwing Umuulan’ will show more of my R&B and soul singer side. It’s another solid hugot song.”
Meanwhile, at a recent Zoom press con, Jeremiah admitted that the pandemic has been very tough, but it has also afforded him the chance to improve himself and his craft. He focused on making music and also has been thinking of enrolling in music school abroad.
“‘Yung pandemic sobrang malaking dagok sa Pilipinas, sa ibang bansa. Pero ako sobrang nagpapasalamat kay Lord…. kasi ‘yung creative process, na develop music production, na develop magsulat. ‘Yung mag li-live ka, gamit certain app na parang may production ka na talaga. ‘Yung ganung bagay, pinagpapasalamat ko sa pandemic na ito. At syempre lagi kong kasama ang family ko,” he explained.
On the emergence of Kpop groups, Jeremiah said he does not feel threatened.
“Ako po hindi na ‘di discourage,” he said, “Actually po, ang galing ng songs nila. Hindi naman ako fan, pero pag pinapakinggan ko songs nila, every time nagle-level up. Sobrang lupit. Like kunwari, SB 19, ang galing, ‘yung songs nila pinag isipan kung paano gagawin ang kanta. Syempre alam naman natin ang galing pa nilang sumayaw.
“Natutuwa ako, hindi ako nadi-discourage kasi [I consider them] artists na nagbibigay ng standard sa Philippines kung paano gawin ang music talaga. “
