With her captivating looks, undeniable talents, and magnetic charisma, Geraldine Jennings could easily be the next internet sensation in the country.
Born in the Philippines to a Northern Irish/British father and a Filipina mother, Geraldine is a striking blend of Irish-British and Filipino heritage, showcasing the depth of her diverse cultural roots.
At the age of 20, this statuesque beauty is a trained singer and actress, and a skilled guitarist. While many from her generation might opt for the quick route of posting videos online to showcase their talents, Geraldine has chosen the traditional path of introducing herself to the press and offering a live sample of her musical gifts.
During her launch at Fin and Claw in Quezon City, Geraldine was asked why she took this more traditional approach rather than the instant gratification of online fame. “Because I love it. I’m good at it. I’m passionate. It’s my first love. Acting. I’m doing it for the craft, not for the fame,” she explained.
Geraldine draws inspiration from admired actresses like Solenn Heussaff and Lovi Poe, whom she’s been watching since her younger years. Her entry into showbiz was facilitated by her friendship with Leo Dominguez, a talent manager known for handling top stars in the industry.
Geraldine expressed her admiration for Lovi’s films, particularly “Seasons” and “The Annulment.” She envisions herself embracing a similar, classy approach if ever she decides to show her sexy side.
“Just like Lovi, classy,” she quipped.
Beyond showbiz, Geraldine revealed her openness to represent the country in an international beauty pageant. She trained for three months, until she had to pause because of scheduling conflicts.
“Gusto ko [mag join ng] Binibining Pilipinas, Miss World,” she said, “Or Miss Universe, but I should get more experience first before joining that.”
She wants to try it all, she said, but does understand how complicated the demands might get if she chooses to juggle studies, showbiz and pageantry, but Geraldine, who is a frequent flier who regularly jets to the US, London, Scotland and Asia, is confident she can do it.
“I like it all. I’m open to everything. But of course if you want to enter a pageant, you have to dedicate training all the time,” said Geraldine.
Geraldine is currently studying Business Management at the University of London. She is the second eldest of the four talented daughters of Gina Jennings and Northern Irish international businessman Frank Jennings.
Her passion for the arts extends beyond the classroom. Geraldine’s first love is singing and playing the guitar, a talent that shone through in the Teenstar UK singing competition in 2018, where she reached the finals.
Geraldine is part of a new film, tentatively titled “Isla Babuyan,” which also features Samantha da Rosa, Dave Bornea, Jameson Blake and Lotlot de Leon. She is also set to record an original composition of acclaimed singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid.
