Erik Santos’ birthday adobo, Pinky Tobiano’s pandemic advocacy

Part of Erik Santos’ 39th birthday celebration on October 10, was giving food aid to Malabon residents last Friday, October 8.

He’d rather not dwell on this, but he feels that such small act of kindness makes him happy at this time of pandemic.

Another source of joy for him was when he gave out pork adobo lunch packs to the jeepney drivers of Katipunan, Quezon City, last Wednesday October 6.

Erik collaborated with chemist-philanthropist Pinky Tobiano in cooking pork adobo using Pinoy pork produced by local backyard hog raisers.

He personally packed the cooked adobo in tubs which were later given to the displaced QC jeepney drivers.

This is part of the activities of “Grateful Tuesdays,” chemist Pinky Tobiano’s erstwhile online program which has been giving aid to those gravely affected by the ongoing pandemic.

“I pity the jeepney drivers who’ve lost their source of income at the onset of the pandemic.

“I see the glow in their faces everytime they get aid from ‘Grateful Tuesdays,” Pinky related.

She’s also thankful to Erik for celebrating his natal day in this manner – giving his solid assistance for chemist Pinky’s “Support Pinoy Pork.”

“My father used to be a backyard hog raiser, which sustained our family then,” Erik shared.

“This is why I have so much respect for industrious farmers and hog raisers.”

Erik is all out in his support for this and other advocacies of “Grateful Tuesdays” spearheaded by Pinky Tobiano.
