Dominguez is 2020 highest paid Cabinet official

FINANCE Secretary Carlos Dominguez III took the top spot in the 2020 list of highest-paid officials in the Duterte Cabinet with total earnings of P4.943million, vaulting six places from seventh in 2019.

Despite earning the biggest paycheck among members of the official family, Dominguez was only ranked a lowly 146th among 8,737 public officials listed in the 2020 Report on Salaries and Allowances (ROSA) released by the Commission on Audit (COA) last May 12.

Second place went to Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, whose P4.88 million pay in 2020 was enough to move him past 2019 runner-up Health Secretary Francisco Duque, who wound up at sixth place with P4.754 million.

Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato dela Peña, 2019’s highest paid, landed in fourth place with P4.854 million in total earnings.

Rounding up the top five is Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, who held the same spot in the previous year’s list.

Details of each Cabinet official’s total pay are contained in the 2020 ROSA, including basic pay, allowances, bonuses, and discretionary funds at their disposal. The report is released yearly and is available to the public on COA’s official website at www.coa.gov.ph.
The ROSA lists all officials of national government agencies (departments, bureaus, and constitutional bodies) and government-owned or controlled corporations (GOCCs).
