THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is warning the public against the unauthorized hiring of emergency employment beneficiaries.
In a social media post, the DOLE – National Capital Region (NCR) said some individuals are falsely claiming acting on behalf of the labor department to hire beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program.
“The general public is warned against unauthorized hiring of beneficiaries for the TUPAD program of the Department of Labor and Employment,” said DOLE-NCR.
TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides disadvantaged workers with temporary wage employment running from 10 to 90 days, with wages based on the highest prevailing minimum wage in the region.
Under the scheme, DOLE-NCR said jobless individuals are being encouraged to apply for the TUPAD program offering a salary of P800 per day.
Interested applicants are then advised to send a direct message for inquiries or submit their applications online to unscrupulous individuals.
DOLE also urged individuals with knowledge of entities involved in such schemes to report them to authorities.
“Please report any information on individuals or entities who are illegally conducting said activities and they shall be dealt with accordingly,” said DOLE-NCR.
