Bong Revilla excited over TV, movie comeback

Senator Bong Revilla is delighted that his series, “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis,” will return for a second season this year. During a face-to-face meeting with the entertainment press last year, the senator mentioned that audiences would enjoy the continuation of the story featuring his character, Bartolome “Bart/Tolome” Reynaldo, alongside actresses Beauty Gonzalez as Gloria Hernando-Reynaldo and Max Collins as Elizabeth “Elize/Puso” Riego De Dios.

“Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis” is the TV remake of the 1994 action-comedy film starring Bong and his wife, Rep. Lani Mercado. Lani, in a previous interview, revealed that she played a role in selecting Beauty for the role of Gloria.

“I recommended [Beauty]. May different touch pag Bisaya,” said Lani.

In addition to “Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis,” Bong also expressed his anticipation for a return to the big screen, eyeing a movie with “Abot Kamay Na Pangarap” lead star Jillian Ward, who was a child star featured in “Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote” in 2010 and “Si Agimat, si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako” in 2012.

In another development, the senator has surged into the Magic 6 in the latest 2025 senatorial preference survey conducted by OCTA Research.

The survey, conducted from December 10 to 14, 2023, shows the veteran lawmaker’s position jumping to the sixth place from the ninth in the Octa survey conducted during the third quarter of the year.

“Napakaganda po ng pasok ng taon para sa atin sapagkat damang-dama ko po na patuloy tayong pinagkakalooban ng tiwala ng ating mga kababayan,” Revilla said.

“Marahil ay dulot ito ng pagbubunga ng ating mga pagsisikap sa Senado para makapagpasa ng mga makabuluhang batas na malaki at direkta ang mga benepisyo para sa mamamayang Pilipino,” he added.
