THIRTEEN senior police officials, including six one-star generals, have been reassigned under a fresh revamp ordered by PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.
The 13 are led by Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft who was named acting director of the Caraga regional police office.
Kraft will replace Brig. Pablo Labra II who was reassigned to the Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (PHAU) of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano, deputy chief for administration of the Caraga regional police office, was named acting SPD director, vice Kraft.
Northern Police District (NPD) director Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr was designated acting chief of the Legislative Affairs Center (LAC) of the PNP Directorate for Plans.
Peñones will replace Brig. Gen. Nicolas Salvador who was designated as the acting PNP deputy director for plans.
Special Action Force (SAF) deputy director Brig. Gen. Rizalito Gapas was designated acting NPD director, vice Peñones.
SAF chief of staff Col. Manuel Abrugena was named SAF deputy director, vice Gapas.
The others affected by the revamp were Colonels Frankie Candelario, Jason Capoy, Jun Mark Lagare, Cresenciano Landicho, Rex Arvin Malimban, and Eleazar Matta.
Candelario was reassigned to the PNP Intelligence Group (from the Northern Mindanao Police Office) while Capoy was sent to the PNP Academy (from the Police Security and Protection Group).
Lagare was detailed with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (from Intelligence Group); Landicho, to the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management from PHAU; Malimbam, to SAF, from PNP Academy; and Matta, to Caraga regional police office, from the Information Technology Management Service.
The reassignment of the officers will be effective today. The orders were signed by PNP director for personnel and records management Maj. Gen. Robert Rodriguez “by command” of Acorda.
Acorda has ordered several rounds of revamp since assuming as PNP chief in April. One of these revamps saw National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo getting “demoted” as PNP director for police community relations.
