FOR the second straight day, new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country stayed at the 3,000 mark while 227 more succumbed to the deadly virus, according to the Department of Health.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said total infections in the country rose to 2,772,491 counting the 3,694 cases while the death toll rose to 42,575 for a case fatality rate of 1.53.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 8.6 percent out of the 50,755 tests conducted last October 26.
Active cases dipped anew to 49,835 from 50,152 last Wednesday, with 73.4 percent mild cases, 10.9 percent moderate cases, 6.8 percent asymptomatic cases, 6.2 percent severe cases, and 2.6 percent critical cases.
Active cases account for 1.8 percent of COVID cases in the country.
The DOH also reported 3,924 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,680,081. This means that 96.7 percent of COVID patients have recovered.
Less the deaths and recoveries, the DOH said there remain be 49,835 active COVID-19 cases in the country.
The active cases account for 1.8 percent of the COVID-19 cases in the country.
Of the active cases, 73.4 percent are mild cases, 10.9 percent are moderate cases, 6.8 percent are asymptomatic cases, 6.2 percent are severe cases, and 2.6 percent are critical cases.
