POLICE operatives have arrested 31 Chinese allegedly involved in credit card fraud in simultaneous operations in Binan, Laguna last Friday, the PNP announced yesterday.
PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar said the operations in houses in the high-end subdivision of La Villas de Manila in Barangay San Francisco in Binan, Laguna was based on a complaint of concerned citizens regarding the sudden influx of Chinese in the community and their unruly behavior.
Armed with search warrants, policemen raided the houses and rounded up the Chinese, who were later discovered to be involved in credit card fraud.
Three Chinese men who reportedly run the illegal operations were not around during the search and are now the subject of follow-up operations.
