The C&E Group has been one of Dr. Edizon Fermin’s constant partners in engaging stakeholders in the education sector. The EdSpeaks founder and National Teachers College vice president for academic affairs has an able partner in navigating the new normal and, more importantly, making the most of the opportunities afforded by it.
However, those opportunities, Fermin emphasized, are triggered by not-so-good news. But, “we need to be mindful of today’s focus on C&E Adaptive Learning Solutions (ALS) as a very timely response and, effectively, a contribution to address the Philippine learning crisis.”
Educational institutions are in search of appropriate learning solutions. As a member of the National Technical Working Group in Flexible Learning of the Commission on Higher Education for over three years now, Fermin has determined that three considerations ultimately matter in the search for learning solutions: choice, convenience, and competence.
On the matter of choice, according to Fermin, the new normal requires learning solutions that enable learners, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders in exercising the power of choice because of the richness of their features, affordances, and even prices.

“They are preferred because they are smart responses to the needs of these stakeholders,” he said.
On convenience, learning solutions that are relevant to the perceived and anticipated changes in the landscape of knowledge, skills, and attitudes, translate to competencies in a changing workforce.
“They are preferred because they conveniently and immediately address preparedness for future disruptions,” he added.
On competence, learning solutions that are complete– with an end-to-end configuration where learning content, experiences, assessment, and analytical data are tightly integrated in a user-friendly manner and where authentication and security features are well designed.
“They are keys to guaranteeing that the need for competence of a variety of learners, teachers, administrators, researchers, educational technology specialists is addressed,” he explained.
Fermin called upon all partners to take a leap of faith in opting for adaptive learning solutions that are smart, relevant, and complete work toward addressing the prevailing issues of equitable access and sustainable quality in Philippine education.
C&E ALS, as a strong, integrated learning solutions brand, provides a wide portfolio of educational tools and services, said John Emyl Eugenio, chief operating officer of C&E ALS.
As a learning solutions company, it takes pride in being the only comprehensive provider of its kind in the Philippines that caters across all levels of learning- all disciplines and all needs — whether for print, digital/e-learning, hardware, or even the design of learning spaces.
Eugenio added that C&E ALS is able to provide Filipino learners with world-class, high-quality tools that highlight advancement, innovation, and meet the skills demands required for global competitiveness.
“Being a market leader, we symbolize our commitment and brand as a beacon of modern knowledge,” Eugenio added.
“We at C&E ALS remain steadfast in our commitment to be the guide in navigating the world through adaptive learning. It is the aim of C&E ALS to become the very light that guides learners and educators through educational innovation,” he noted.
