Since the beginning of time, humans have sought to understand the Universe. Visual artist Ombok Villamor presents his own attempts to decipher the Universe, expressing scientific data with emotive imagery, and visually depicting abstract mathematical principles with beautiful renderings. Villamor brings his own interpretation to this almost incomprehensible subject, visualizing with his art the wonder of our Cosmos.
Ombok Villamor’s “Chromatic Cosmos” series explores the link between the inner and outer realms of mankind and the quest to find peace by bringing these into harmony.
Two prominent elements are involved in Villamor’s art: line and movement. The graceful and harmonious flow of line, whether in the human or natural forms, is evident. Each artwork is an individual representation of an energetic process to celebrate and empower the psyche. The results are striking large-scale contemplative paintings, which simultaneously take audiences deep within themselves and to the outer reaches of creation.
The themes include life cycles, rebirth as a rite of passage, and the intuitive, creative expression. Ombok Villamor’s works are about discovery and all the things we find when we are not seeking them.
