The new hosts of GMA’s noontime show debuted yesterday, June 5.
Twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, comedians Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya, Paolo Contis, and Alexa Miro, former host of TV5’s defunct show “Tropang LOL,” opened “Eat Bulaga” (EB).
Last Sunday, Jun Zarate, said to be the new director of the noontime program, posted a logo with the words “Eat Bulaga Kapuso” on Facebook.
On GMA network’s official Instagram page, the photos of Cassy, Mavy, Paolo, Betong, Buboy, Kokoy de Santos, and XOXO’s Dani Ozaraga, Mel Caluah and Lyra Micolob were posted.
The caption read: “All for love, love for all for Eat Bulaga!
“Nandito na sina Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi, Paolo COntis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Kokoy de Sanbtos, andn XOXO’s Dani Ozaraga, Mel Caluag, and Lyra Micolob para pasayahin pa lalo ang inyong ponanghalian! Tutok lang sa Eat Bulaga.”
It will be recalled that former Senate president Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon cut ties with Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.), longtime producer of “Eat Bulaga,” last May 31. The rest of the hosts – Allan K., Ryan Agoncillo, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Maine Mendoza – followed suit. There are rumors the three will be back hosting on June 7, exactly a week after they walked away from TAPE. As to what network they will air remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, talent manager Lolit Solis, in her latest Instagram post, talked about ward Paolo Contis and his inclusion in the noontime show.
She wrote: “Idol ni Paolo Contis ang TVJ Salve. Bata pa siya fan na siya ng Tito, Vic and Joey. Ironic na nangyari ang ‘gulo’ ng TVJ at heto ngayon, isa sa host si Paolo Contis sa programa na ilalagay sa dating oras ng Eat Bulaga.
“Trabaho lang, walang personalan,” she continued, “Dahil kahit kelan hindi papasok sa isip ni Paolo na magiging katapat siya sa programa ng Tito, Vic at Joey. Under siya ng management ng GMA Artists Center at kung anong trabaho ang ibigay sa kanya, tinatanggap niya.”
She called Paolo a “good soldier following his superior.”
“Talagang hindi mo maiiwasan mga ganitong pangyayari. Kahit nga si Paolo hindi akalaing mangyayari ito pero iyon ang gusto ng management niya, at palagay ko naman hindi magiging dahilan para magkaruon ng bad blood sa mga involved. Sana nga both parties maging matagumpay,dahil liit lang mundo ng showbiz. Hindi na dapat meron pang maliliit na kaguluhan. Dapat lahat maayos. More work, the better. More shows mas magaling.
Basta trabaho, go lang, mas bongga.”
Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy and Mavy Legaspi are GMA talents, while Alexa is under Tyronne Escalante’s management company and was just part of TV5’s defunct noontime show “Tropang Lol.”
Noel Ferrer, the talent manager of Kim Atienza, who was said to be part of the new EB hosts, said that Kuya Kim “cannnot do the EAT BULAGA replacement show” because of conflict of schedule with his daily show on GMA, “TiktoClock.”
