GMA Playlist brings a wave of emotion this September with the release of five new original tracks that explore themes of love, betrayal and friendship. The latest lineup serves as the official soundtrack to GMA Network’s values campaign “Ganito Tayo, Kapuso: Masayahin” as well as dramatic themes for its hit series.
At the heart of the “Masayahin” campaign is a moving story about children caught in the grip of online gaming who rediscover the joy of real-world friendship through their parents’ support. Capturing the campaign’s uplifting message are three new songs: “Ikaw Na Lang ang Kulang,” “Basta’t Magkasama Tayo” and “Atin ang Mundo.”
Kapuso singer Mitzi Josh performs the tender ballad “Ikaw Na Lang ang Kulang,” written by Ann Margaret Figueroawhich reflects a deep yearning for meaningful connection and the simple joy of togetherness.
She also joins Kim de Leon and Seb Pajarillo in the upbeat track “Basta’t Magkasama Tayo,” co-composed by Figueroa and Joshua Gapasin, celebrating the light-hearted fun and warmth found in friendship.
Kim and Seb return with the energetic anthem “Atin ang Mundo,” composed by Figueroa and Kenneth Job Reodicaand mixed by Andrea Rae Culla. The song champions the idea of rediscovering life through shared experiences and camaraderie.
Meanwhile, Sparkle artist and The Clash 2023 grand winner John Rex adds emotional depth to the GMA Afternoon Prime drama Cruz vs. Cruz with the soulful ballad “Kahit Wala Nang Tayo.” Written by Roxanne E. Fabian and mixed by Harry A. Bernardino, the track reflects the grief and guilt of lead character Manuel (played by Neil Ryan Sese) as he struggles with the aftermath of infidelity and a love that persists despite broken trust.
Rounding out the collection is “Huling Hinto” by Kim Perez, a rock ballad about coming to terms with the end of a relationship and the painful clarity that follows. The song was composed by Rina Mercado, arranged by Fabian and showcases Kim’s raw, heartfelt vocals.
