MICHELLE Lucas, 43, a successful entrepreneur and business owner, is one of the 18 official candidates vying for Mrs. Universe Philippines 2021, representing the province of Rizal, which is known as the “Cradle of Philippine Art.”
Joining her very first pageant ever, Michelle initially wanted to inspire and empower other women and the youth by putting up her own foundation, but eventually decided to join Mrs. Universe Philippines spearheaded by Maria Charo Calalo.
“Selflessness is a lifelong commitment. Joining Mrs. Universe Philippines allows me to extend my reach to empower women and the youth, nurturing and teaching them how to manage their own business instead of just being employed,” Lucas said during an engaging virtual meet-and-greet with members of media last Monday.
Michelle looks up to their national director Maria Charo Calalo whom she admires for her selflessness, dedication and tirelessness in reaching out to those in need.
Now a single mother of three beautiful teens, Michelle has a multi-pronged career worth admiring and emulating. She’s a business owner, chef, restaurateur, interior designer, and business coach to micro and small enterprises.
She studied at Assumption Antipolo, University of the Philippines Diliman (with a degree in Interior Design), and Center for Culinary Arts. In addition, she is affiliated with the UP Interior Design Alumnai Association where she is business manager; the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) Calabarzon as secretary; ECOP Rizal as president; Go Negosyo as mentor; and member of the Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. She has also attended various international business development conferences as a member of the Philippine delegation.
Michelle staunchly supports the following charities: Cribs, Kanlungan ni Maria, Local Council of Women and Children’s Homes.
Michelle admits she is still a “work in progress” but has put her faith and trust for her transition to her coach Jess Juaniza Soriano, who is also a senior mentor of renowned pageant camp Kagandahang Flores, as well as to her glam team.
Organized by national director and Mrs. Universe Philippines 2019 Maria Charo Calalo, the grand coronation night will be staged at Okada Manila on September 10, 2021.
