The lifting of anti-dumping measures by Australia will now allow duty-free export of Philippine pineapples, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The DTI in a statement said the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADCC) on Oct. 6, 2021 issued its final decision to discontinue the anti-dumping measures that were applied to consumer and food service industrial (FSI) pineapples exported by the Philippines.
For 15 years, ADCC has been slapping anti-dumping duties of 5.9 percent on consumer pineapples from Dole Philippines and 22.9 percent on those from other exporters.
The anti-dumping duties on FSI pineapple products are at 18.7 percent
The DTI these duties will expire on October 17 on consumer pineapple and November 13 for FSI pineapple.
The ADCC determined that the expiration of said measures will not lead to a continuation or recurrence of dumping and to material injury that these measures are intended to prevent.
