DivinaLaw stands out in the Philippine legal landscape—not only for its over 100 accomplished lawyers but for a rare distinction: it is home to eight current and former law deans. Here, courtroom excellence and academic leadership converge, fostering a culture that mentors, inspires, and raises the bar for the next generation of Filipino lawyers.
“The foundation of our culture is our collective belief that DivinaLaw is more than a law firm. We are a community of mentors, trailblazers, and nation-builders,” said Managing Partner Atty. Nilo T. Divina, Dean of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law. Under his leadership, UST produced a record number of bar topnotchers, including the 2023 first-placer. “Our mission is to raise not only the bar for legal practice, but also the kind of education that shapes tomorrow’s dynamic lawyers.”
Among the firm’s distinguished roster are Atty. Danilo L. Concepcion, former UP President and Law Dean; Justice Raoul V. Victorino (Ret.), who grew Philippine Christian University College of Law from a fledgling program into a thriving institution; Atty. Jose “Jay” Layug, former Dean of the University of Makati School of Law and advocate for access-centered education; Atty. Jacqueline O. Lopez-Kaw, Dean of UST Graduate School of Law advancing inclusive, research-driven education; Atty. Mary Jude C. Marvel, founding Dean of De La Salle University–Dasmariñas College of Law; Atty. Enrique V. Dela Cruz, Jr., Dean of Baliuag University College of Law, promoting digital literacy in provincial legal education; and Atty. Mae Elaine T. Bathan, Dean of the University of San Jose-Recoletos School of Law, leading Cebu’s largest law school to consistent bar success.
Together, these leaders embody DivinaLaw’s unique character—a place where legal practitioners are also educators, balancing courtroom prestige with academic responsibility.
“It’s not enough to win cases,” Divina said. “The true measure of a lawyer is the legacy they leave in the profession and in society. That’s the standard we set at DivinaLaw.”
With its remarkable roster, DivinaLaw is redefining Philippine law—setting a nationwide benchmark for excellence in advocacy and education.
