Alagang AyalaLand; Ayala Land delivers a truckload of water daily to barangays Apas and Luz in Cebu.

Ayala Land (ALI) has been donating truckloads of water every day to barangays in Cebu hit by severe water shortage in the aftermath of typoon Odette.

Part of the company’s Alagang AyalaLand (AAL) program, the initiative targets communities who are still cut off from the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) supply. Ayala Land has been assisting barangays Apas and Luz, and began first deliveries to Luz on December 25 and to Apas on December 28. The group aims to continue these efforts until the end of the year or until the areas’ regular water supply resumes.

Ayala Land is simultaneously providing support to MCWD facilities connected to Cebu Business Park to expedite the reboot of the area’s water supply. A deepwell in Cebu I.T. Park is also currently servicing a portion of barangay Apas.

Alagang AyalaLand provided relief packs to Barangay Luz on Christmas day, with more communities targeted for goods distribution.

GBP pandemic response

Global Business Power Corp. (GBP), through its subsidiaries Cebu Energy Development Corp. (CEDC) and Toledo Power Co. (TPC), has turned over a total of P20.6 million to Barangay Daanlungsod, Toledo City, Cebu in aid of its pandemic response and initiatives.

The amount represents the Energy Regulations 1-94 (ER 1-94) fund share of the company’s host barangay from the electricity sales of its Cebu subsidiaries.

In accordance with the Department of Energy’s Department Circular No. 2020-04-0008, ER 1-94 funds can be utilized by host local government units to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 health emergency, anchored on the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. The said fund will enable the barangay of Daanlungsod to mobilize their action plan in battling the ongoing pandemic, including the purchase of a multi-purpose van for the LGU’s disaster risk reduction management programs.

Cyber education campaign

Globe is strengthening its cyber education campaign to protect customers from cybercrimes amid the recent incidents that led to distress and confusion among customers, highlighting the need for consumers to stay vigilant and safeguard their personal information by outsmarting scammers.

Through its #makeITsafePH campaign, Globe continuously rolls out the Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), containing materials on cybersecurity and safety for consumers and businesses across various platforms, including YouTube. DTP modules include guides for customers on ways to protect their online accounts from hackers.

Globe recommends using two-factor (2FA) authentication or application authenticators like Google authenticator for a stronger line of protection on customers’ accounts. The 2FA works by adding a layer of security to online accounts as it requires additional login credentials to gain access.

HCPI unveils plans for 2022

Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) is gearing towards 2022 with some exciting plans.

As shared by HCPI president Masahiko Nakamura, the Japanese automaker is planning to expand its dealership network along with introducing three Honda models to serve its customers better.

HCPI with all Honda companies in the world remain committed to the 2030 vision which is to “serve people worldwide with the joy of expanding their life’s potential.”

This is the driving force behind Honda’s advanced safety technologies such as the Honda SENSING. Honda will also improve the quality of its corporate activities based on the principle of providing superior value to customers.

Ford Ph donation;  Food items being packed in RAFI’s operations center in Cebu.

Ford Philippines is donating $25,000 or P1.25 million as relief assistance to communities and families affected by Typhoon Odette, particularly in Central Visayas.

Ford, through its Ford Motor Company Fund, is partnering with American Chamber Foundation (AMCHAM) Philippines to make the donation to Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) to support RAFI’s Bangon Visayas”¯Humanitarian”¯Response”¯Initiative, to assist typhoon-affected individuals and families in Cebu, Bohol, Negros, and Leyte.

The”¯project will have”¯two phases, where Phase 1 is the”¯Emergency”¯Relief”¯phase, which”¯covers the provision of emergency food and”¯drinking”¯water. RAFI”¯will also provide generator sets with fuel for affected local government units (LGUs). Psychosocial”¯support for”¯children and families”¯will also be implemented.

Phase 2 will be the Early Recovery phase, which will focus on the construction of safe shelter for the totally-displaced, and livelihood augmentation.

Most tweeted e-commerce brand

With its string of successful campaigns and relatable social media content, Shopee is the most tweeted e-commerce brand in the country according to Twitter for 2021.

Shopee took the second spot overall in Twitter’s ten most tweeted brands list in the Philippines, which was released as part of the latter’s “Best of Tweets 2021” awards announced on Dec. 14. The annual rundown aims to celebrate and recognize outstanding brands for their groundbreaking campaigns and engaging digital content.

Martin Yu, director at Shopee Philippines, said “as we welcome a new year, Shopee will push for excellence and increase engagement satisfaction not only in-app but on other platforms as well. This coming 2022, we will continue to improve our services to better tend to the needs of our consumers, sellers, and brand partners.”

During big campaigns, Shopee dominated the Twitter world with the appearance and performance of K-pop idols, which resulted in being in the top trending hashtags locally and nationwide.

Assistance to PRC

The Araneta Group has partnered with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) in helping families affected by Typhoon Odette in Visayas and Mindanao.

The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. gave on Dec. 27 a cash donation worth P500,000 at the PRC main headquarters in Mandaluyong City.

Araneta City has started accepting donations for the typhoon victims through its Operation R.E.A.C.H. (Relief Efforts of Araneta City-zens to Help) program.

The public may leave donations such as bottled water, canned goods, rice, mats and blankets, face masks, alcohol, and other hygiene needs in drop boxes located at the Gateway Mall, Ali Mall, Farmers Plaza, and Gateway Tower.

Free transport

2GO transports basket trucks to support power restoration initiative of One Meralco Foundation in Cebu and Bohol.

2GO Group, Inc.’s business arm 2GO Sea Solutions, has been transporting donations and relief goods port-to-port, free of charge from Manila to Cebu, Bohol, Bacolod, Butuan (for Siargao and Surigao City), Cagayan De Oro, Dumaguete (for Bais City), Iloilo and Puerto Princesa.

As of Dec. 20, 2GO has been moving essential goods such as food, water, medicines, gen sets, including basket trucks for power restoration. The company has also released emergency funds, provided food, medicines and accommodation for its affected employees in partnership with SM Foundation.

Coins.ph launches AXS, SLP from Axie Infinity

Coins.ph announced the addition of AXS and SLP available for customers to buy, sell, and store on the app and website .
