NGCP’s P2.59B substation okayed

THE Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has approved proposal of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines to pursue the Capas 230 kilovolt (kV) substation project in Tarlac.

ERC said in an issuance the project will cost P2.59 billion and is expected to improve power services in Northern Luzon.

The substation project will help manage power load growth in Tarlac due to the connection of Shin Clark Power Corp., the power distribution utility serving the New Clark City, ERC added. The regulatory body said the proposed Capas substation will also serve the needs of electric cooperatives (EC) in the area — Tarlac Electric Inc. as well as Tarlac I EC and Tarlac II EC.
