The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said its connection agreement with San Ignacio Energy Resources Development Corp. (SIERDC) for the construction of a 440 megawatts (MW) Isabela ground mounted solar project will further enhance synergy and connectivity among the players in the power industry.
NGCP said the P18-billion project in Ilagan City is expected to be completed by 2028. The project will provide jobs for 4,000 workers.
Anthony Almeda, NGCP president and chief executive officer, said tthe company’s cooperation and alignment with SIERDC signal another milestone for efforts to maximize energy infrastructure and facilities to ensure that all resources are used to their full potential and consumers get their money’s worth.
“We assure our stakeholders of our continued commitment to improve, upgrade, expand and reinforce the Philippine power grid,” Almeda said.
Almeda reiterated NGCP’s readiness to accommodate and transmit any and all available power to the grid.
“We welcome the entry of new energy sources to address the need for additional power supply and ensure the reliability, adequacy and quality of power being transmitted,” Almeda said.
